A Hotter spark for free.

NOTICE:  I have done this modification on almost all of the motorcycles I have owned and raced in over 3 decades!  Some people do not agree that this is helpful or good.  I do not wish to argue the point with them.  I just know from my experience that is helpful to me.  As stated on the technical page there are no guarantees.

Inside of every modern day Honda spark plug cap is a resistor element. This element is there to provide noise suppression for AM radios. It is a resistor so it also reduces the amount of voltage available to the spark plug. It is also a point of failure. The resistor elements can and do deteriorate and/or fail entirely. Fortunately most of them are removable.

Remove the rear tank mount bolt and nut. Do not remove the front mount bolts.

Pick up the rear of the tank and place something between the tank and the valve cover to prop up the fuel tank enough to get to the plug cap. Here we use a coffee mug.

Locate the rear spark plug cap and pull it off
