Front Brake Line Replacement Project (Page 4)

Master Cylinder w/wrench Place a rag under the master cylinder to keep the fluid off the painted parts then remove the bolt. There is a sealing washer between the bolt and the banjo fitting and between the fitting and the master cylinder

The fluid will now drain out faster to the rags at the bottom of the lines. Make sure none of the fluid is leaking on any painted surfaces or the brake pads and disc.

Brake line junction box While the lines are draining start to remove the brake line anchor bolts. This is the junction box bolt that is located on the steering stem. (1) is the junction, (2) are the lines coming into the junction and (3) is the bolt that holds the junction on. It is a 10mm headed bolt.

Brake line holder The left caliper brake line is also secured to the steering stem on the left side. (1) is the brake line, (2) is the bolt holding the line on (10 mm head) and (3) is a wrench to remove the bolt.

Remove both of the reflectors on the fork legs since there are two more hose holders under the mount bolts. There are no good instructions on how to get the old hose out from here. Just take your time and pull it out the top. You will have to reach down into the fairing area to work all the brackets past obstructions.
