Front Brake Line Replacement Project (Page 3)

Master Cylinder On the Master Cylinder we will have to remove and discard the stock banjo bolt (1).
Caliper On the Calipers we will have to remove and discard the banjo bolts (1). If we are going to replace the fluid with DOT5 then we will also have to remove the brake pad pin cover (3) then the brake pad pin and pads. And remove the caliper assembly by removing the brake caliper anchor bolts (2).

Remove the banjo bolt on the caliper first, having a rag ready to wrap around the end of the brake line to absorb the fluid that will come out. Either tie the rag on the end of the line or use some other means to attach the rag to the end of the brake line. We remove it on the caliper first to allow the brake fluid to slowly seep out of the line. Do the same thing on the other side. When you have the lines off both of the calipers and rags secured to the ends of the lines you can remove the line from the top.
